I AM THE WEST

I AM THE WEST...is the name of my new record. After completing about 65% of my music, this is the perfect title. This shit is cocky, no apologies, West Coast gangsta shit. I can't help it. That's what I do. June seems too tight for a release, but July is very doable. We'll see how things go. Now that I have my title, I can work on the concept of my photoshoot and artwork. I want to provide early merch before the drop date.

For 7 or 8 years now the West Coast has been trying to do music that appeals to the South and Mid-West. The words, "too West Coast" would be heard throughout the industry whenever our music was played. Even by our own dj's. Left coast MC's were now trying to change their sound to cater to all the followers. We lost our way. Thank God for b-boys like Snoop, The Game & WC for keeping the West alive, but we were all guilty of over reaching. No more. At least not from me. I do it how I feel it; not how I think it should be done. Radio fucked us up. I hate the politics at radio. I don't know who to pay to get my shit played. Having a hot song is not enough. Ridiculous.

I AM THE WEST. It's coming....

Keep It Gangsta

DJ Jones02, I have to question your knowledge of Cube and statements which I think are unfounded! Cube has worked with and supported many up and coming rappers either appearing on their albums or on his own albums. To name a few, think; Mr Short Khop who appeared on War and Peace Volume 1. Think Mack 10 of Westside Connection and countless appearances on solo material. Think Kausion - a group who Cube signed to his Lench Mob imprint; Yo Yo – appearance on AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted, and Production and Exec production on some of Yo Yo’s solo albums. Think K-Dee who appeared on Cube’s 5th solo album Lethal Injection Album and who was signed to Cube’s Lench Mob Records. Cube executive produced and appeared on K-Dee’s album – “Ass Gas or Cash…”
The names included are just a drop in the ocean to what Cube has done for up and coming and young artists.

Along with Ice T and 2 Pac, Cube has paved the way for rappers to appear in Movies. His roles in movies have assisted rappers be more accepted in the film industry,

Based on the above facts, and labelling Cube as ‘ignorant’ you could not be more further from the truth, perhaps it is you who is ignorant by disregarding the detail in Cube’s career.

Throughout Cube’s career, if you listen to his lyrics he has opened our eyes on politics, gang warfare, rap industry scams, riots and delivered positivity on how we can move forward in life! It doesn’t need me to say that this is not a sugar coated world, Cube opens our eyes to realism and I agree with Cube in saying that this is what is missing in Hip Hop nowadays. Personally, when you label Cube as ‘ignorant’ I think you cannot be more further from the truth.

As a father has a say if his son is misbehaving, where West Coast hip hop is concerned, Cube also has every right and more to spit on where West Coast Hip Hop is not what it should be for whatever reason. Its not about the rhyme, dirt and the grind anymore….its about plastic rap!......Do ya thang Dr Frankenstein!!

Cube, just a few questions for you: Were you ever approached to sign to Death Row?
Are you still in touch with K Dee?... I still bump his album!
Who were you calling out on "Click Clack Get Back"… “Got my n**** a deal he tried to f*** me and steal, I loved the N**** now he feelin a chill” ?

I came to your concert a few years ago when you performed in London at Electric Ballroom, I thought it was the best concert I had ever been to and I have seen Snoop, Fiddy, Game, PE, Red and Meth. The atmosphere was as the venue’s name ‘Electric,’ I don’t think I could describe it in words, will you be touring in the UK again to promote your new album? As I’m sure you witnessed, you have so many true fans in the UK!! What did you think about the fans that night? Does it compare to fans in the US in anyway?
I am also a big fan of 2Pac's. One of my all classic tracks is Last Words. Did you ever come close to recording any other tracks with Pac?
Cube, You are the WestCoast, rep to the fullest, down with you all the way my man!
Representing from the UK – A fan of Cube since the 80’s!

    Peace 5000 G!!
